Teaching consumers how to live greener through small steps
Chicago resident Allison Shaewitz is the creator EcoMinders, easy-to-use, removable and reusable green stickers that remind us to make the small changes that collectively can make a huge impact on the planet: reducing our energy use, water consumption, product waste, and carbon emissions. Allison is also the blogger behind Chicago Green Girl.
Like many people, Allison never thought she would become a “tree-hugger” until the birth of her son. “You start seeing the world in a different light and realize that what you’re doing will impact your children and grandchildren,” says Allison.
Her philosophy? Every little thing makes a difference, whether it’s turning off the lights, switching to recycled paper products or cutting your shower time by a couple minutes.
