Marcal Paper Mills, LLC (MPM) is committed to protecting your personal privacy. We have created our
Privacy Policy in order to outline the type of information that is collected when using our site or shopping
online with MPM, how we protect it, and how you can elect to change your information. The following
statement discloses our information gathering and dissemination practices for our Web sites:
www.marcalsmallsteps.com and www.marcalpaper.com (the "MPM Sites").
The MPM Sites may contain links to third-party Web sites. MPM is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of such Web sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave the MPM Sites and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This Privacy Policy applies solely to information collected by the MPM Sites.
Information Collection and Use
As used in this Privacy Policy, Personal Information means personally identifiable information such as your name, street address, e-mail address, telephone number, billing address, and credit card information.
Non-Personal Information includes your browser type, domain name, IP address, and how you maneuvered through the MPM Sites.
We collect Personal Information during the online checkout process and at several different points on the MPM Sites, such as our loyalty program, so that we can properly fulfill your orders and we can send you newsletters and coupons that you may request. We collect Non-Personal Information so that we can identify general shopping and navigation patterns so we might better understand how to improve your experience with the MPM Sites. MPM is the sole owner of all the information (both Personal and Non-Personal) collected from any of the MPM Sites. We will not sell, share, or rent any information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement.
By using any of the MPM Sites you signify that you agree with the terms of our current Privacy Policy as posted. If you do not agree with any term in this Policy, please do not provide any Personal Information on this site. If you do not provide Personal Information on this site you may not be able to do certain things, like access particular areas of the site, participate in our loyalty program, request coupons or samples, shop online, or send us e-mail.
Various Registrations
In order to receive certain updates or use certain features of the MPM Sites, you may be asked to first complete a registration form. During registration, you are asked to give your contact information (such as name, mailing address and e-mail address). This information is used to contact you about the services on the MPM Sites in which you have expressed interest, such as our Newsletter and/or product coupons. We may also ask for preferences about the type of information you would like to receive to aid us in the tailoring of our newsletters. Our online surveys ask you for contact information (like e-mail or mailing address). We may use contact data from our surveys to send you information about MPM and our activities. Other data collected by online surveys is used to educate us about your interests and concerns. This information is not shared with other organizations. MPM operates contact lists to reach its members who request such information. Such services are run both by MPM and contracted vendors. These e-mail addresses, whether housed on MPM servers or those of our third-party contractor, are never shared with any other organization except as disclosed in this Privacy Policy.
You may opt-out of receiving future mailings; instructions are contained within each e-mail sent, as well as on our site help page. See also the Opt-out section below.
Sharing
We may share aggregate demographic information with our partners and advertisers. This is not linked to any Personal Information that can identify any individual person. We may use outside companies to ship orders, and we may use a credit card processing company to bill you for goods ordered online. These companies may receive Personal Information to help us process your order. These companies will not retain, share, store or use Personal Information for any secondary purposes.
We will never rent, sell or exchange any e-mail address we receive. By signing up at an MPM Site, you will not be sent advertising or messaging from any other company, regardless of their association with MPM. We work with a third-party e-mail provider that adheres to contractual standards and policies, and we only send e-mail to those who have requested it. MPM provides a permanent “unsubscribe” link with each e-mail sent. See Opt-Out section below.
E-mail-A-Friend
If you want to use our referral service to tell a friend about any of the MPM Sites, we will ask you for your friend's name and e-mail address. MPM will automatically send your friend a one-time e-mail inviting him or her to visit the MPM Sites. MPM does not store this information.
Log Files
We use IP addresses to help analyze trends, administer the site, track user's movement on the MPM Sites, and gather broad demographic information for aggregate use. IP addresses are not linked to Personal Information in any way.
Cookies
The MPM Sites may use "cookies." A "cookie" is a piece of data stored on your hard drive via your web browser. Any "cookies" used by the MPM Sites will store only Non-Personal Information and will not ever contain any Personal Information.
Cookies simply are a way to help us to identify your browsing session with us and to manage certain specific visit information about you. Cookies can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance your experience on the MPM Sites. For instance, by setting a cookie on an MPM Site, you would not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on an MPM Site. If you reject the cookie, or choose to disable them through your web browser, you may still use the MPM Sites. The only drawback to this is that you will be limited in some areas of the MPM Sites, and you will not be able to save items to a shopping cart or complete an order online.
Security
The MPM Sites have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse and alteration of the information under our control. This includes a firewall and 24 hour monitoring of MPM Site activities by our hosting service provider as well as industry-standard secure socket layer (SSL) encryption technology on all transaction oriented operations between you and MPM via our transaction service provider.
No method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, however. Therefore, while we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Privacy of Children
We encourage parents to take an active interest in their children's use of the Internet. The MPM Sites are not targeted to children younger than 13 years of age. MPM does not knowingly collect or store information of children younger than 13.
